Connector IP Ratings Explained
Ingress Protection (IP) ratings, defined by IEC 60529, classify the degree of protection provided against the intrusion of solid objects (including hands and fingers), dust, accidental contact, and water in electrical enclosures.
An IP rating consists of two numbers (e.g., IP67). The first digit represents protection against solids, and the second digit represents protection against liquids.

- Metri-Pack 150/280 Unsealed: IP40 (Interior cab use only).
- Weather Pack: IP67 (Suitable for general engine bay).
- Deutsch DT Series: IP67 / IP68 (Depending on the specific boot and potting).
- Amphenol AT Series: IP68 / IP69K (Heavy equipment, direct chassis exposure).

Crucial Note on Sealing: An IP67 connector is only IP67 if properly assembled. If a cavity is left unpinned, a cavity plug must be inserted. Furthermore, the wire insulation diameter must fall within the tolerance range of the silicone wire seal.
